Kirsten Moon

Kirsten, who is a solicitor and partner with Moon & Co, is a specialist employment lawyer. Kirsten grew up in Lincoln and studied law in Nottingham and Guildford. After qualifying as a solicitor, Kirsten moved to London and spent 16 years in a City solicitors practice. After 12 years of commuting Kirsten has joined her husband’s practice in Kent to deal with all aspects of employment law.

Kirsten’s clients have ranged from large financial institutions to small manufacturers, national retailers to construction companies, service providers to unincorporated associations and senior employees. Her work covers all aspects of employment including drafting contracts and policies and every day HR advice. Completing termination settlements, including compromise agreements, as well as Employment Tribunal and court cases, has also formed a significant part of her work. Kirsten has given numerous talks about aspects of employment law and putting the theory into practice in the workplace

Kirsten is working with Focal Point to provide a seamless link between employment law and practical management training. For example, the use of employment contracts and disciplinary policies with training in the handling of poor performance. Other areas include stress handling, recruitment and diversity in the workplace. Building up the relationship with clients also provides an opportunity to analyse clients’ strengths and suggest a development programme for the whole team.
