FOSTER
Jo is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and
Development, with experience across a range of HR issues
from management development to disciplinaries and dismissals.
She has had 12 years working as an HR
generalist and has proven capabilities of influencing senior
executives and making HR credible within organisations.
She joined Bass’ Graduate Training Scheme in 1994 working
through a range of the organisations’ businesses and
their associated cultures - from betting to bingo ending
up after 4 years at their Head office working with the Chairman
and other Directors.
Following that, she moved into the public
sector working as a Project Manager for the BBC on the challenges
of moving the UK from Analogue to Digital working across
the various Regions on behalf of BBC Broadcast.
She returned to an operational role within
the media heading up Planet 24’s HR department looking after staff on
The Big Breakfast and other television programmes.
Her most recent operational role was in
the Professional Services Industry for one of the Magic Circle
Law firms working alongside the lawyers and responsible for
the HR needs of the Business Services half of the firm.
Her experience includes

- Reducing numbers in effective
and respectful redundancy programmes
- Coaching senior executives to improve
their impact
- Outplacement counseling
- Writing employee handbooks and developing policies
- Designing bespoke training
- Running and designing Assessment and/ or Development
centres based on tailored competencies specific to organisation
- Implementing
job evaluation schemes, comparing and ‘weighting’ different
roles for pay and developmental purposes
- Qualified to use British Psychological Society Level
A and B Instruments.
- Licensed to
use the OPQ (S&H)
and the RPQ (PSL)
An Architectural graduate she also has her Certificate in
Management and Diploma in Neuro Linguistic Programming.
