What's In Our News!

Posted by Debbie Stanfield 14/02/14

This month, we are gearing up for our annual meeting with our IiP assessor Laura. We can’t believe it is 2 years since we gained gold and champions status, so the pressure is on to ensure we keep our standards high... but then so we should, if we are advising you on your people management practices!

What does being an Investors in People “Champion” mean?

We are proud to be part of what IiP describe as “a group of role model organisations that promote the IIP Framework and its benefits through best practice activity”.

As part of our role as an IiP champion, we offer information and support to other organisations who are interested in gaining the IiP accreditation or who are already accredited and would like to move to a higher standard such as Bronze, Silver or Gold.

In the last 18 months we have offered such support through ...

  • Giving guidance and suggestions to a company who have the silver award, but wanted advice on getting to gold. We shared our experiences of engaging staff and embedding values and behaviours in the company
  • Meeting with one of our clients who were considering starting the IiP journey to  to discuss how we got started and give some pointers around doing some diagnostic work to get a sense of where their gaps might be
  • Guiding the HR manager in one of our clients to build in development for support staff in the business, to strengthen their overall investment in their people as they worked towards accreditation

If you would like to pick our brains about any aspect of gaining an Investors in People award, do give us a call and we will be very happy to chat! 01903 732782 or drop us an email info@focalpointtraining.com

I joined Stella and Tracy at Focal Point in 2003 and have seen both the Company and my role evolve during this time. I now work closely with the management team to achieve and improve business efficiently. To re-energise myself after a day in the office, I like to go to Zumba classes in the evening!
