This was the clear message from David MacLeod (Engage for success) and Chris Roebuck (visiting professor transformational leadership at Cass business school) who both spoke at last week’s IiP forum

So we thought we would share with you - courtesy of Chris’ talk - some of the very simple things you can do – starting now – which will improve your leadership and bring you better results from your people.
Actions you could do tomorrow that would improve performance:
– Tell people what they do contributes to bigger picture + 28%
– Fair & accurate feedback day-to-day + 39%
– A good development plan supported by the line manager + 37%
– Showing employees you genuinely care + 25%
Overall …. a good line manager who inspires and
develops people can increase an individual’s performance AND potential by at least 30% (Corporate Leadership Council N = 50,000)
