A trainer, facilitator, coach and accredited Belbin Team Role consultant, I specialise in the areas of management, leadership, communication, personal development and wellbeing.
I have worked with small, medium and large organisations, as well as those based locally, nationally and internationally, and have coached and trained people at every level from junior staff up to Chief Executives.
I feel privileged that I am able to facilitate others learning and development and I love being able to help people build their skills, behaviours, knowledge and confidence. I create a supportive and engaging learning environment to ensure that learners are able to take away practical solutions that they can apply back in the real world.
When I am not training, you will find me spending time with my family, travelling and practicing yoga.

I am a Learning Consultant, Facilitator and Coach with over 20 years experience. My background is based on working and leading in a number of global organisations, mainly in operational areas, which has allowed me to develop a practical understanding of how businesses conduct themselves.
My passion for success in others is driven by a solid focus on employee engagement and how this generates high performance. I believe in connecting with others on a personal and strategic level to influence change, which generates learning which is purposeful and engaging.
I am also very experienced in designing and delivering Trainer/Facilitator development and ensuring that the right people, with the right mindset and skills, can deliver learning locally. I fully understand that this adds a level of credibility to the learning and can support efforts to achieve this.
When I’m not working I can usually be found in the kitchen, as it’s my favourite place in the world! Secretly, I want to be owning a small, intimate restaurant.
I am passionate about enabling people to become the leaders they want to be. I draw on over 20 years in learning and development both as a training consultant and as an Organisational Development Manager, working with leaders at all levels from first-line management to Exec. I can empathise with managers and leaders who are facing challenges with their own teams and careers as I have been there and faced similar challenges.
To me, the most important part of any training intervention is ensuring that participants can take it back into their own world. I take time to ensure participants can see the relevance of the subject and can relate it back to their own workplaces.

I thrive on seeing people do things they didn’t think they could do!
I draw on my management and leadership experience from working in senior positions in the Metropolitan Police Service, running Focal Point since 2002 and working across all three sectors in the widest variety of environments.
Because we rarely learn things first time, we believe it is vital to provide support before, during and after the events we run, in order to get the best from them. Time and time again people have told us how the chance to review their learning and to have their actions reinforced has really helped cement new ways of doing things. This is what has then made the difference that they and we are looking for.
I am a fellow of the CIPD and when I am not working with clients I can be seen on the golf courses of Hampshire.

Prior to becoming self-employed, my career was spent working for one of the UK’s best-known and most loved retailers, who also happen to be the largest employee-owned company in the country. You probably know who I mean, even before I mention the Christmas adverts….
I worked in a variety of roles: commercial, operational, HR, and supply chain, before acting as a critical friend and advisor to board-level leaders. I was also heavily involved in leading, facilitating and developing employee-elected bodies across the whole business.
My interest in facilitation grew from this background – seeing the power in participants from all levels of an organisation collaborating with positive intent to reach mutually beneficial outcomes. It also made me recognise how well people from different levels of an organisation can work together when you reduce power differentials and create an environment where everyone can contribute on equal terms, knowing their input will be valued and respected.
Since becoming self-employed, I have deepened my understanding of facilitation, becoming an accredited member of the Association of Facilitators, and building my knowledge around psychological safety, its importance, value, and how to bring it to life in an organisation. I am also qualified as a NLP Practitioner.
I love building a rapport with clients, understanding their needs, and constructing an approach which promotes participation and collaboration whilst maintaining a focus on reaching specific and relevant outcomes.
Away from work, I play a very average game of golf, enjoy skiing (another sport where I am a 20-handicap), walking, eating, music, and horology. And, like another Focal Point colleague, I am an addict of The West Wing!
I would describe myself as a compassionate, creative, and people-centered development specialist. I focus on working with others to find practical and innovative solutions, creating learning environments that meet individual and organisational needs. For me, it’s about helping people to love what they do, to create positive changes that speak from the heart, and make a difference that goes beyond conventional targets. Holding a safe space for people to develop and grow is key, at the same time as providing enough challenge to shift thinking.
In a career spanning over 30 years, I’ve supported executives, teams, and individuals to develop themselves and others, implement change and deliver excellence in the private, public, and charity sectors. I use a range of creative approaches to design a wide range of learning and facilitation interventions, helping individuals and teams find solutions to existing issues, plus new ways to progress and to excel. I use a range of techniques and tools, including coaching, NLP, mediation, mBIT coaching, psychometrics including MBIT Step II, and 16pf.

The way we behave towards each other in the workplace has a direct impact on individual wellbeing, team performance and organisational results. This belief has underpinned our work at Focal Point for over 20 years and has never been more relevant.
We are privileged to work with a huge variety of organisations wanting to get workplace behaviour and culture right - and to tackle the inappropriate behaviour that may get in the way of this. Supported by our fantastic team of facilitators and coaches, we are able to make a real difference to peoples’ lives as well as organisational performance.
Having worked in both large businesses at management level and in 2 start ups at director level, I am able to combine hands on experience of growing and managing teams - and the associated challenges in creating the right culture - with over 20 years in learning and development.
