A trainer, facilitator, coach and accredited Belbin Team Role consultant, I specialise in the areas of management, leadership, communication, personal development and wellbeing.

I have worked with small, medium and large organisations, as well as those based locally, nationally and internationally, and have coached and trained people at every level from junior staff up to Chief Executives.

I feel privileged that I am able to facilitate others learning and development and I love being able to help people build their skills, behaviours, knowledge and confidence. I create a supportive and engaging learning environment to ensure that learners are able to take away practical solutions that they can apply back in the real world.

When I am not training, you will find me spending time with my family, travelling and practicing yoga.

Chris Brown - Associate Learning and Development Consultant

Coming from a strong business, training and coaching background Chris is a highly qualified executive coach and leadership and management trainer. He has delivered coaching, mentoring and training into a broad range of businesses and organisations from local authorities to car manufacturers and a lot in between.

Chris is passionate about the power of coaching and leadership and their ability to transform the lives of busy managers. Today's workplace needs strong leadership and Chris sees his mission as helping to develop today's managers into tomorrows leaders.

In his spare time Chris plays guitar in a band. He also enjoys running and reading.

Cheryl Burgoyne - Associate Learning & Development Consultant

I am a Learning Consultant, Facilitator and Coach with over 20 years experience. My background is based on working and leading in a number of global organisations, mainly in operational areas, which has allowed me to develop a practical understanding of how businesses conduct themselves.

My passion for success in others is driven by a solid focus on employee engagement and how this generates high performance. I believe in connecting with others on a personal and strategic level to influence change, which generates learning which is purposeful and engaging.

I am also very experienced in designing and delivering Trainer/Facilitator development and ensuring that the right people, with the right mindset and skills, can deliver learning locally. I fully understand that this adds a level of credibility to the learning and can support efforts to achieve this.

When I’m not working I can usually be found in the kitchen, as it’s my favourite place in the world!  Secretly, I want to be owning a small, intimate restaurant.

Annette Cairns - Associate Learning & Development Consultant

Annette CairnsI am passionate about enabling people to become the leaders they want to be. I draw on over 20 years in learning and development both as a training consultant and as an Organisational Development Manager, working with leaders at all levels from first-line management to Exec. I can empathise with managers and leaders who are facing challenges with their own teams and careers as I have been there and faced similar challenges.

To me, the most important part of any training intervention is ensuring that participants can take it back into their own world. I take time to ensure participants can see the relevance of the subject and can relate it back to their own workplaces.

I have a Masters in Strategic Human Resources with an emphasis on Learning & Development, a post-graduate diploma in Executive Coaching & Mentoring and I am a Chartered Member of CIPD. In addition, I am a certified NLP Master Practitioner, Facilitator, and Coach. I use a range of psychometric tools such as MBTI, Insights, and OPQ32, to enable people to understand their strengths and challenges

When not working I am either to be found out with our three Labradors or playing in a brass band, which is especially busy around Christmas.

Stella Chandler - Director of Development

Stella ChandlerI thrive on seeing people do things they didn’t think they could do!

I draw on my management and leadership experience from working in senior positions in the Metropolitan Police Service, running Focal Point since 2002 and working across all three sectors in the widest variety of environments.

Because we rarely learn things first time, we believe it is vital to provide support before, during and after the events we run, in order to get the best from them.  Time and time again people have told us how the chance to review their learning and to have their actions reinforced has really helped cement new ways of doing things. This is what has then made the difference that they and we are looking for.

I am a fellow of the CIPD and when I am not working with clients I can be seen on the golf courses of Hampshire.

Movell Dash - Associate Learning & Development Consultant

I provide executive coaching and D&I coaching to senior leaders up to C-Suite and  work with women returning to work from extended leave and those newly entering professions. I provide strengths based coaching as a means of improving confidence, self-esteem and productivity. I am also an Oxford Brookes validated personal development coach.

I am a qualified Barrister and Prince2 and Agile certified Project Manager, I have in the recent past used my skills to develop and lead a successful Sponsorship Programme for BAME staff.

I also use my skills and expertise as a public speaker, speaking on topics ranging from equality, diversity and inclusion to coaching and Imposter Syndrome.

I am a proud mother of one and when I am not coaching or facilitating you will find me playmate, nanny and exercise coach to a wonderful dog call Poppy!

Danica Duric - Company Administrator

Dani Duric

I work with Focal Point as a Company Administrator, having previously worked in the Oil & Gas Industry for 13 years; and in retail buying, procurement, interior design project management and various support roles, for 16 years. My strengths include an excellent eye for detail, working to deadlines and building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Wanting to make a major change and work from home, I retrained in 2017 to become a professional dog groomer, so as well as working for Focal Point, I also run my own part time dog grooming business.

In my leisure time I love to be creative, feltmaking, sewing, jewellery making, as well as reading fiction, attending the opera, ballet and live music.

Catherine Hamilton - Associate Learning & Development Consultant

I have over 20 years experience in the private sector, working as an internal consultant developing diversity and inclusion strategies, local and global interventions, raising awareness and understanding of dignity at work, generating champions and employee networks for the business and facilitating key learning interventions.

In the last 5 years I have broadened my client base and my work has included: designing an e-learning intervention to support understanding of inclusion and diversity; designing and delivering short, focussed unconscious bias sessions and webinars; working closely with HR to develop skills to champion D&I; designing and facilitating tailored programmes to develop inclusive leadership skills.

I am passionate about developing others and supporting them to become more aware of their own behaviours and the impact this has on others, through both 1:1 coaching and group workshops. My aim is always to enable sustainable behavioural change.

I hold an NVQ IV in Learning & Development, Business Coaching Diploma and am a trained mentor for start-up businesses.

When I am not running workshops and programmes for clients you will find me leading a community choir and watching my 3 musical children performing.

Ian Hiscock - Associate Learning & Development Consultant

Ian HiscockPrior to becoming self-employed, my career was spent working for one of the UK’s best-known and most loved retailers, who also happen to be the largest employee-owned company in the country. You probably know who I mean, even before I mention the Christmas adverts….

I worked in a variety of roles: commercial, operational, HR, and supply chain, before acting as a critical friend and advisor to board-level leaders. I was also heavily involved in leading, facilitating and developing employee-elected bodies across the whole business.

My interest in facilitation grew from this background – seeing the power in participants from all levels of an organisation collaborating with positive intent to reach mutually beneficial outcomes. It also made me recognise how well people from different levels of an organisation can work together when you reduce power differentials and create an environment where everyone can contribute on equal terms, knowing their input will be valued and respected.

Since becoming self-employed, I have deepened my understanding of facilitation, becoming an accredited member of the Association of Facilitators, and building my knowledge around psychological safety, its importance, value, and how to bring it to life in an organisation. I am also qualified as a NLP Practitioner.

I love building a rapport with clients, understanding their needs, and constructing an approach which promotes participation and collaboration whilst maintaining a focus on reaching specific and relevant outcomes.

Away from work, I play a very average game of golf, enjoy skiing (another sport where I am a 20-handicap), walking, eating, music, and horology. And, like another Focal Point colleague, I am an addict of The West Wing!

Ronni Laurie - Associate Learning & Development Consultant

Ronni LaurieI would describe myself as a compassionate, creative, and people-centered development specialist. I focus on working with others to find practical and innovative solutions, creating learning environments that meet individual and organisational needs. For me, it’s about helping people to love what they do, to create positive changes that speak from the heart, and make a difference that goes beyond conventional targets. Holding a safe space for people to develop and grow is key, at the same time as providing enough challenge to shift thinking.

In a career spanning over 30 years, I’ve supported executives, teams, and individuals to develop themselves and others, implement change and deliver excellence in the private, public, and charity sectors. I use a range of creative approaches to design a wide range of learning and facilitation interventions, helping individuals and teams find solutions to existing issues, plus new ways to progress and to excel. I use a range of techniques and tools, including coaching, NLP, mediation, mBIT coaching, psychometrics including MBIT Step II, and 16pf.

I also have an MSc in Occupational Psychology, am a Chartered CIPD, and a Member of the British Psychological Society.

In my spare time, I love to walk and explore the coast and countryside, and I’ve recently completed my first 10k run. I also enjoy writing poetry, watching films, cooking good food and I love cats.

Suzanne McLachlan - Company Administrator

I developed my organizational, logistical and administrative skills through managing the restaurant and events for a Large London Law firm and latterly by organising and managing events for a Local Care Home.

Supported by our fantastic team of facilitators and coaches, we are able to make a real difference to peoples’ lives as well as organisational performance.

Years of facilitation, training and coaching have given me many interesting experiences and I often call upon these during group discussions.
